Fantasy Realm – Infinite Worlds Adventure

“No way?!” Alex shouts as he peers into the web sacs.

He quickly takes out both sacs, makes sure no Acromantula or other corrupted beast is nearby, and excitedly digs through the loot.

How did they get this? Did Roja and Perlah try to beg their way out? Did they try to tempt the spiders by desperately offering everything they had? Hmm, it seems the spiders took food and some other stuff, but there’s still a lot left! I see weapons—let’s see what we’ve got.

Alex spots a flat rock a bit away from the ravine, surrounded by a few smaller stones. He dumps the contents of both sacks onto the rock.

His eyes widen as he immediately spots multiple sparkling Soul Crystals! He greedily sifts through them, finding a life-changing amount of wealth: a total of 8 Small Soul Crystals and even 2 Medium Soul Crystals.

Soulmate Happy? Stones Sparkle!

This is called… treasure! Anyway, I have a use for these; it’s a great find. I’m happy indeed.

Alex notices Jewel eyeing the Soul Crystals, her desire for them obvious.

When we’re back in the Realm, I’ll get you some real gems—way more beautiful than these, okay? Maybe Rishi has some left that he doesn’t need either.

❤️ Jewel like Sparkling Stone!

Alex does his best to hide his thoughts, smirking to himself. A spider named Jewel who loves gems… this is not a normal spider indeed. I need to be careful not to spoil her so she doesn’t turn into a spoiled princess. But… He looks at her happy expression. That’s going to be harder than I thought. With her Crown, she’s actually kinda cute, like a real pet. Never thought I’d say that about a spider.

Besides the Soul Crystals, Alex finds numerous useful items. He counts 7 Green-Quality equipment pieces, ranging from Light Green to Deep Green, and 3 more Blue-Quality pieces of equipment. He also finds Roja’s and Perlah’s weapons, a Rapier and a Harp. The Rapier is Deep Blue, while the Harp is of normal Blue quality.

This is getting a bit tough to track. These are all mediocre items—neither I, nor Rishi or Tereza, will have any use for them. I might just throw them into the inventory and either sell them or save them to rank up my current gear! The timing couldn’t be better in that regard, good that I’ve got that piece of information early.

Alex and Jewel make a quick trip to the Centaur camp, where Alex decides to exchange all his [Gems of Corruption] for [Warrior Tokens].

To his surprise, nothing much has changed. The Centaurs look depressed and entirely focused on defending their camp. His interactions with Firenze and Mikora are brief and uninspired. Alex uses his tokens to acquire some basic herbs he intends to give to Menchi, along with a Light-Blue Quality leather helmet.

As soon as the trade ends, Alex looks around and sees the depressed Centaurs lazing around, suffering in silence.

I wonder if there’s a way to cheer them up… I have a strong feeling there are opportunities here, but I’m just not spotting anything I can use. They’re also rarely in the mood to tell you straight up what they need, always speaking in damn riddles or using dumb analogies related to astronomy.

Bored and with no real ideas or clues, Alex decides to visit Magor, the old leader of the Centaurs. Magor eyes Alex with a surprised expression.

“You have an interesting companion there on your head, human. If I couldn’t sense such a strong connection between you, I’d be interested in adopting it,” Magor greets Alex, clearly intrigued by Jewel.

“We are very busy, human. As much as I’d like to talk, please keep it brief,” he says with an apologetic smile.

“I’m interested in Magoroth and the Centaurs’ connection to Merlin. Is there anything you could tell me?”

“I’m sorry, Magoroth, you say? A connection to Merlin? Our tribe is relatively young… from time to time, a new tribe springs to life, usually when a tribe grows too large and different factions emerge. The name sounds familiar, but I’m afraid I can’t tell you anything. We are not like you humans, who keep thousands and thousands of books around. Everything we need to know is told to us by the stars,” Magor explains.

Fucking idiots. Merlin himself gifts their ancestors a damn magical bow, and these stupid Centaurs don’t bother with it? Well, it’s a good thing I took it off their hands! They don’t deserve it.

“I’m thankful, Magor. Maybe I’ll really consult the stars about Magoroth. Is there anything your tribe needs?” Alex asks out of sheer politeness, not expecting or even wanting to help out.

“Our food supplies are running low. If you could, we’d be incredibly thankful for some grains and fruit—really, anything you can afford. If you can’t, we won’t be offended either.”

Huh?!

“I’ll see what I can do… so grain and fruits? Anything else?” Alex asks.

“That’s the most important thing. Everything else we’ll gladly accept, but we don’t really require it. During these dark times, luxury isn’t something we’re focusing on,” Magor explains.

“Judging by your mood—and frankly, everyone else around here—you sure as hell could use something to cheer you up,” Alex says without thinking too much.

“What you’re saying isn’t… wrong, human. Perhaps a little bit of your ‘spirits’ could lift my people’s spirits.”

“I’ll… see you soon. Good luck until then. One thing Magor… if you could just ask around a little—maybe someone else knows about Magoroth. Anyway, thank you!” Alex says with a smile as he slowly walks out of the camp, heading back toward the castle.

I guess that’s something? We’re going to Diagon Alley soon anyway—might as well pick up a bunch of stuff for these lazy horses!

Time passes, and Alex stands next to Tereza, Menchi, and Rishi, rereading the short letter in his hands to make sure he got it right.

“Alex, you’re doing the same thing again. We all read the letter. We’re supposed to meet Lucius Malfoy today at 12:30 PM in The White Wyvern, a pub in Knockturn Alley. We’ll be done with Hagrid’s tasks by then,” Tereza says with a slight smile, leaning on his shoulder.

“That’s so typical of you, Alex. I kinda like it—it’s not the worst habit, Tereza. Just leave him in peace for once. As long as he’s just double- or triple-checking, that’s still somewhat reasonable,” Menchi says, her face excited at the prospect of finally visiting Diagon Alley.

“You know me… I like to be cautious. Anyway, what did ‘Sev’ say after you told him you’d be going shopping today?” Alex asks, scratching his head while Jewel pokes it softly.

“He… gave me a shopping list. I have a lot of stuff to do,” Menchi sighs.

I kinda feel bad for her, hehe… just a little though!

Alex looks at Rishi and asks, “Anything you have planned? There are bound to be a lot of shops around. You probably need to sell all the jewelry from the nest, right?”

Jewelry?! ❤️

As soon as Jewel hears Alex say that one particular word, she jumps excitedly on his head, eager to see it.

Rishi responds with a slight smile: “Yeah, we might as well do that together, especially since I get the strong feeling our newest female group member is just a tiny bit obsessed with this topic. Might as well let her pick out a few random pieces—it probably doesn’t make much of a difference.”

Finally, Hagrid shows up, leaving his hut and locking it hurriedly.

“Sorry, everyone, I overslept. Anyway, I’ve got the temporary permits ready, and you can stay in Diagon Alley for the entire day. If you want to go there alone after we’re done, you’ll need to buy a temporary permit for points… sorry, Dumbledore’s orders,” Hagrid says, immediately walking over to Alex. He takes out a small piece of meat and feeds it to Jewel, who slowly eats it without even moving, not much moved by food at all, just eating out of politeness.

“Yer really lucky. She’s such a princess, I tell ya. Rarely have I seen a pet like her. That crown really hit the mark, although it’s a bit weird for ya to order it. I guess you like dressin’ up yer pets?”

“... It’s a long story. Don’t ask me, please. Anyway, Hagrid, let’s go and do your stuff first. We’ve got something to do afterward, but we of course won’t forget that we’re supposed to help you,” Alex says with a smile, not willing to tell Hagrid the crown’s origin.

The group finally walks toward Hogsmeade, specifically the Three Broomsticks Inn. They enter and line up before the fireplace, with Hagrid grabbing a small pouch of Floo powder and looking at the group.

Time to go, I guess. Careful not to mess up the location….
